Slow Time...

Still writing the story and recording the previous parts. I reached part 4 but yet did not start with it. Weird feeling I got... as if the time was slowing down and I have no sense of anything at all. All what I wanted to do is drink tea and just watch some videos, beside playing around with my images.

an image taken from Failaka, before and after edition

Beside playing around, I finally extracted some words out of my mind and started to write a new poem. I called it "Chamomile." I was writing these words with a chamomile tea mug in my left hand and listening to the exotic music of Shahzoda, of Uzbekistan.
Recording the voice for my story is now relatively easier than before, but I have to edit after recording of course to erase some mistakes. Yet, some vowels that I might not have spelled correctly are left untouched.
I wonder if this change of senses for time was mainly caused by my state of rage yesterday... the Chamomile certainly has its own effects.

I need to find some time to accomplish of the other projects that I have in my mind... like creating the script of Beten Yamta nomads. The set of letters is almost ready, but needs writing with a calligraphic pen, and scanning images. On the other hand as well, I need to work on vectorizing my image of "Charnagút" which I sketched and scanned, but now needs some coloring. So much that can keep me busy, but would I have the power and mind to do so?

My story writing has slowed down for some time now because of the circumstances at work... this is the only time I can write in, otherwise, at home, other things occupy my mind... but until now I reached the limit of 1776 lines... this will absolutely make me exceed the 2000 limit, I suppose.

The Machine is ON...

Continuing the work with Alexander's story. I finally fixed the recording problem, and seems I have to record in a 16bit resolution which makes the file larger. Seems all the roads lead me to be using Flash capabilities for the myth section in the webpage. I am almost ready for making the first part of the "Alexander Chornicles". The chronicles will be divided into 6 "books" (i.e. 6 parts or stories).
1. the book of Beginning (Bshíthá)
2. the book of Geltan (Géltán)
3. the book of Bulughman (Bulughman)
4. the book of Zimura (Zimúrá)
5. the book of Hoshea (Hosha'a)
6. the book of Ayvar (Ayvár)

and as I promised before, here is a sample of the Ayvarith, after applying some effects of course.

I worked out a simple schematic diagrams for the classifications of conlangs in the world of Daynur...

The first group is the Ayvaric languages (click to enlarge):

The second group is the Galaic (click to enlarge):

The third group is the Bulghaic (click to enlarge):

The fourth group is the Zimuraic (clik to enlarge):

The fifth and final group is the Barbaric (click to enlarge):

A visit to Failaka

2 days ago I had been to Failaka island, finally. Although I didn't visit much of it in fact but I had the chance at least. The island is deserted. We heard of some places there but we didn't see anything, actually we need more time next time to visit everything we can there. I started my photography there with making out a panoramic view. Panoramic photos are usually taken with wide lens, but in most cases we can take several photos and then stick them up together to make one complete wide photo. The panoramic image I made had a real size of 6.5 meters in width (that is around 18ft maybe).

I really don't know what are these buildings behind but they seem governmental from the looks. The building at the far left behind the bush is drilled with bullet holes. I had the chance as well to test my HDR capabilities (with a software help).

We went insid this building and of course it was nothing but ruins. The good thing is, you can hear sounds of some birds that sounded like, exotic if I should say. They had this place for nesting.
I took some other photos but I didn't prepare them yet to be published on the net. Some clearing for the images must be done because the weather was dusty and not clear as you can see it in the photos.
During the trip to the island I had to cope with seasickness, and thank God I didn't have anything for breakfast but still my stomach played tricks and I felt sluggish and couldn't move out of my car. As for coming back from there, I had lil bit dizziness but I was mostly struck down by the headache.

Because of this trip and being busy with the photos I had, I didn't have the time to record (again) something from the text, nor write something down in the story of Alexander. But today, Saturday, I already starting to write the story. But I think I will leave that for tomorrow or some other time... I think I have to concentrate more on recording since I have lot of problems with the sound quality and playback.

Yesterday it was my niece's birthday! Happy Birthday to Noor!

Recording...

Although I did record the first part of the story of Alexander (which was relatively short) but this time I decided to do it again. I got new mic, so this ought to be different a bit. I never thought that recording is going to be that hard with so many mistakes while speaking. i'm afraid of the mic even when I'm all alone by myself!
Anyway seems I still have to fix some settings to get the recording done correctly... the quality is still not good after I made it down to 8-bit resolution. I might put a sample later on when I get things right and the noise reduced.

I got myself a sketching book and some pencils with different levels of shading in order to try my luck with sketching, and I started with some trials to draw the Charnagút. I will put it on a scanner and then try to fix the rest in the pc.

As the story goes on, I reached 1300s in lines number, and with the current events taking place I think I will reach 2000 as well!
toooooo much to translate!

Exceeding 1000...

Going on with my usual writing.
The story now reached far above 1000 lines. It is at line #1111 at the moment of writing this.
The events developed now and Alexander is in the realm of the Ayvars, or what I called "Uhir Daynur" in the story (i.e. the after-world, or the last world, both can be correct). The realm is weird, and I say weird because I really am not writing according to a pre-determined plan.

I feel a bit frustrated and down... many things go on in somehow a fast pace, and specially when it comes to people who know how to talk but do nowt know how to shut up again. I'm really thinking of changing my place or else I should get a vacation soon.

I made some minor corrections to the classification of my conlangs, and yet I need to put them in a digital form in Word or something (although I really hate to use this program actually). In the meantime, I'm also devising a new writing system for the nomadic tribes of Beten Yamta, and putting some essential remarks concerning their grammar and sentence order.

Clogged With Thoughts...

Although, usually, I don't write anything within the story of Alexander in weekends, but today I made some lines in the 6th part. Not much compared to other days maybe, but I had some time to write some, yet not much inspiration for the miserable situation that I usually live every weekend.
Despite all that I grapped a paper and started to sketch some outlines. I began to classify the languages of the tribes and kingdoms mentioned in the map of the Daynur world.
The prime outline is divided into 5 categories of languages: Ayvaric, Galaic, Bulughiac, Zimuraic and Barbaric. I'm still looking in the map for the time being as this sketch might change later on. I guess I will have to do it and organize it properly by some other programs here and there.
I will try to publish this categorization somehow later on, maybe via Omniglot if Mr Ager accepted that. Beside this classification, I made a small chart as well to organize my work with putting a systematic change to the dialects in each main group of languages.
In the meantime as well, I'm putting the first corner stones for the upcoming conscript. I didn't specify yet for which tribe it would be, but the language shall be Ayvaric and derived from the Ayvarith, with a change in the vowel system and some consonants.
I think I will start recording the previous translations of the past parts of Alexander's story and put them as mp3s (or PCM Wav files) to make them ready for some action. I wonder if I have the power to work with Flash again!
We'll see!

I Hate Mondays...

Although Monday is not the first of working days, but I hate it so much... even before they change the old system for the weekend. Most of problems occur in this day.
The amazing thing is, someone called me and said that I have to pay 20KD for the Traffic Department for an accident I made in 2007. No one was hurt in the accident and nothing in the street was damaged except of my car, and yet I have to pay 20KD. The thing is, they called me on Monday and my accident was also on Monday.
We have a fuss around the campus where I work because of some visitors from highschools for the open day. And it all happens on Mondays.
I was planning to go to buy some gifts for my nieces but my colleague said he want to leave at 10 or so to do some stuff outside, again, it is Monday.

Still writing the story of Alexander and I reached line 480, which makes it as 20 verses with 24 lines in each verse. The journey of Alexander continues to Beten Yamta nomads to the north, to seek some knowledge of an old saying about the Ayvars.
Will I reach the 1000-line limit?

Guess what smart action I did today?
I bought a new DVD-RW and I found out that I don't have a DVD RW writer in my laptop!
Yes.... Welcome Monday...

Beyond the Demon...

Just finished the battle between Alexander and the demon, few minutes before writing this entry.
And finally I got myself the time table for trips to Failaka island!!! Well, they are for this month and I'm gona check with friends on what time shall we set.

At home I stopped working with the Flash for my brother's site for the time being waiting for more updates and contents to be available since I cannot work and then do my work again for a minor update or so. Something wrong with the .fla file that seems I have to do it all over again. I'm trying to play some more games!

In the meantime, I'm thinking of some other dialects of Ayvarith and other scripts derived from the Ayvarith script, also, on the other hand, I'm thinking of a way to communicate by numbers, by assigning them to different parts of the body. This idea is not new in fact, I've already tried it before, long time ago, and wrote something about it but I faced many difficulties in formulating the concept and divisions of the sentence. Maybe my problem at that time was that I wanted to make it a FULL language-like script. This time I'm going to take another approach, and make it a communicative code, that is, using specific necessary words and dropping the necessities of real languages (or artificial) like syntax and parts of sentence. Symbols might be involved as well... as I did involve them already in the previous approach.

Back to the dialects of Ayvarith, mainly there would be northern dialect and a southern one as I already set my mind to it. Each dialect of those would have a specific (but not necessarily systematic) change. The range of vowels shall be expanded and the script might be mongolian-like, but ......... from bottom to top, and some consonant sounds might change as well.
The dialects shall be assigned to some tribes of the north in the artificial world of Daynur, like Huberians and Urevians, and to the south for the Millikan tribes (Millikan is an adjective for Millik). There is the tribe of Ushirites in the middle but anyway I think I will make a different story for this tribe and shall not include it in the southern dialect scheme.
Hieroglyphic style of writing is also in the air... boy I have so much ideas and so lil time and mood, but oh well .... life is going on!

To the poetry side, I'm thinking of some words but the inspiration is not yet revealed. I wrote some words but did not complete the piece or name it even. I wonder if I'm going to complete it ever. I was happy today when I made a search under my name in google and found out that some people did take pieces of my poetry for their sites and photos... there were really nice photos out there.
